In this exceptional "terroir" Pics
Saint-Loup , these
new vines benefit from a very rich organic supply :they are planted
in soils which were once covered with garrigue.
The
vines are planted on southern slopes and take full advantage of the
sun due to their high trellising.
Yield
: 20 hl/ha
Vinification
:
An entirely manual harvest , in mini cases with selected grapes. At
the cellar , the grapes are sorted and then transfered to the tanks
on travelling bands. Fermenting time is about thirty days in inox
tanks. Fermentation by grape-variety and by "clos".
Tasting
:
Rich nose ,pickled fruit , a bouquet of dried flowers with hints of
fresh caramel. It,s full and fleshy in the mouth. Rich and coated
tannins , taste of jam and liquorice. The very long finish makes it
a magnificent wine. The Haut-Lirou spirit will delight you with its
generousity and its potential to keep.
Suggestion
:
Excellent with game , meats in sauces and an assortment of cheeses.
